The hotel’s chef Ladislav Douša during his junior age, achieved great successes at cooking olympics events and in 1998 he won the second place in the Cook of the Year contest. In 1998 he also excellently represented the Czech republic by gaining the second place in the world championship in Luxembourg. He is the holder of the silver medal of M.D. Rettigová. In 2003 as a senior, he won the third place in the Cook of the Year contest. He has experienced foreign scholarships of which he appreciated most the Swiss St.Gallen one. In 2004 he represented the Czech gastronomy in Singapore. He has been active as a teacher at the Culinary academy AKC of the Czech republic and has been the member of various gastronomy contests’ committees. In the beginning of 2008 he took part in the Mediterranean Culinary Challenge Cup Gastronomia 2008. His team returned from the contest as the absolute winner.
Under his tutorship the students of Gastronomy Cook-Waiter and Confectioner studies have the opportunity to apply their knowledge and experience and to train for the junior professional contests. In the Café – Restaurant Esprit Orangerie the Hotel Industry and Gastronomy students have great opportunity to use their foreign language knowledge.

These are the students of the Hotel Industry programme and, under the guidance of the chef Miroslav Soukup, the students of Gastronomy and the Cook-Waiter and Confectioner programmes. All of them use not only their professional abilities but also the knowledge of foreign languages such as English, German and Spanish.
KEMPINSKI Hotel the member of the Kempinski chain is located in the very heart of the city near all the famous monuments and historical buildings such as Prašná brána and the Municipal house. It has been the result of a large reconstruction of the original building. The five-star hotel is situated in a historical building from the twentieth century together with a large garden in a serene environment of the inner block.

The kitchen is managed by Zdeňek Pohlreich , a famous figure on the culinary scene, tgether with his well-chosen team meet the world requirements of gastronomy. The confectionary is led by Kateřina Fornůstková,who has been our graduate. At the age of sixteen she had become the absolute winner of the Gastro Junior Czech republic Contest. To develop her specialisation she worked in the cold kitchen for the Dublin five-star Conrad hotel. She continued her career as a top professional confectioner for the Rhodes D7 restaurant in Dublin, whose owner is the top chef in Britain Gary Rhodes, the holder of five Michellin stars. Kateřina is now a top confectioner on the European scene.
